What sets OpenTrend Solutions apart from other IT consultancies? First
of all, we don't feed you promises that our technical staff can't
fulfill. Second of all, we don't try to couch what we do in a
mumbo-jumbo soup of corporate-speak. We're not here to hawk
high-priced solutions that won't perform, so we don't need to hide
behind a cloak of empty catch-phrases.
Working with a company that sells Open Source solutions might seem a little odd at first. That's why we've put together this -- admittedly, slightly whimsical -- page to convince you that what we're talking -- about makes sense.
Paying for Our Time... That's It
There's nothing worse than paying for consultants to come in, seeing them charge their hourly rate, and still being forced to ante up thousands of dollars for the software solution they installed. Not only are our rates competitive, but you don't pay for the software -- it comes to you gratis, courtesy of the open source software community.
Simplicity Is the Key
Through our experiences working for companies large and small, we've come to the realization that, as obvious as it sounds, the simpler solutions generally perform better and are far easier to maintain. That's it. We don't add more complexity to your business than is necessary.
Security Is Paramount
In this age of system viruses, trojans, worms, and other evil software, it's essential than any network-connected solution be secure. Although security is never an absolute, we believe in building solutions that allow just the amount of access required, and no more.
Open source solutions have a better track record on security than closed source ones, and that's why we put our weight behind them. You don't want to worry about your systems being cracked, and we don't either. We both have more important things to do.
Hype Isn't Helpful
Let's face it: the computer industry is filled with a lot of spin
doctors and pundits hyping products. Many claims are made within the
computer industry that simply aren't true.
We're not interested in hype; we come to the table armed with a healthy degree of scepticism in many claims from high-priced consultants who would love to string the customer along by using expensive, proprietary solutions that only they are familiar with. All we want to help you do is to build what works for your company, and no more.
We Like to Have Fun
You don't hear consultants say this a lot -- why? We wouldn't be doing this if we didn't love it. Helping clients to grow their business by implementing solutions that make them happy makes us happy, too. Plus, we get to keep our skills sharpened with the many interesting technical challenges presented to us by our clients.
